Queen Of The Point Surf Competition Series Returns to Ventura for Thrilling Conclusion of 2023 Season
Ventura, California — The Queen Of The Point (QOTP) surf competition series is set to make waves in Ventura, California, from October 27 to 29, 2023. This event marks both the exciting conclusion of the 2023 season and the kickoff of the highly anticipated 2024 season.
The QOTP Ventura event will feature some of the most remarkable professional surfers, including reigning champion and QOTP Malibu ’23 winner, Sally Cohen. Ming Hui Brown, a Ventura local, will also be in attendance as the points leader for the 2023 season. Not to be overlooked, the formidable Daisy Valdez, a QOTP Philippines semifinalist making her maiden voyage to the US all the way from the island nation, will also add her talent to the lineup.
The action-packed competition kicks off with the Pro Division on Friday, October 27th, followed by a thrilling weekend featuring all divisions. The climax of the event will be Finals Day on Sunday, October 29th, when champions will be crowned.

- Opening Ceremony: Kickstart the event with the Opening Ceremony at Traveler Surf Club on Friday, October 27th, starting at 5pm.
- Halloween Party & Live Music: On Saturday, October 28th, at 7pm, head to Leashless Brewing for a Halloween Party with live music to keep the festivities going.
- Costume Paddleout: Join us at noon on Sunday, October 29th, for a Costume Paddleout, a unique and spirited gathering.
- Awarding & Closing Ceremony: Wrap up the weekend with the Awarding and Closing Ceremony at Topa Topa Brewing Co. on Sunday, October 29th, starting at 3pm.
This year’s QOTP event promises to be a thrilling celebration of surf culture and female talent. Finalists will be honored, and the 2023 season champion will be crowned.

Amateur Division
BOARD SPECIFICATIONS – Minimum 9ft or 3ft overhead (Itty Bitty & Mini divisions)
NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS PER DIVISION – 12
NUMBER OF RIDERS PER HEAT – 6
HEAT LENGTH
- Preliminary heats – 15 min
- Final Heats – 20 min
WATER START – Paddle 5 min before heat start
INTERFERENCES – Snaking and back paddling WILL NOT be tolerated.
- 1st Offense – 2nd highest score cut in half
- 2nd Offense – Automatic disqualification
ROUND ROBIN FORMAT
- Round 1 – Top 3 places go to “TOP 3” heat; Bottom 3 places go to “BOTTOM 3” heat
- TOP 3 – Top 3 go to “FINAL”; Bottom 3 go to “ELIMINATION”
- BOTTOM 3 – Top 3 go to “ELIMINATION”; Bottom 3 are out
- ELIMINATION – Top 3 go to “FINAL”; Bottom 3 are out
